Mulching/Rock Install
I buy locally sourced mulch made with yard waste people put out from all over Saint Louis!
Pros of mulch:

Initially cheaper than rock

Different color options
Cons of mulch:

Color fades, so needs to be refreshed each year

Weeds may eventually start to grow in it
Rock is an alternative to mulch and can be installed in landscaping beds or walkways.
Pros of rock:

Lasts longer than mulch

Different size and color options
-
No fading
-
Cheaper in the long run (compared to mulch)
Cons of rock:

More expensive upfront
When installing rock, I also install contractor-grade weed block fabric to prevent weeds from growing in your landscaping beds. The fabric is woven, allowing water to properly drain.
